Louise is a barrister specialising in cases that require expert advocacy and interpersonal skills, proficient in dealing with the public in a competent and friendly manner. Louise has a varied practice and represents both individual and corporate clients, respectively. Louise is called upon to advise professional clients at an early stage of proceedings in respect of strategy and achieving the best outcome for lay clients.

Criminal Law

Louise has experience in the Crown Court, Magistrates’ Court and Youth Court defending and prosecuting in a broad range of hearings. Louise has dealt with fully contested summary trials involving serious offences and has also been instructed in the Crown Court for sentencing, appeal against conviction & sentence and bail applications (Wood Green, Croydon, Blackfriars, and Inner London Crown Courts).

Louise has defended and prosecuted serious offences including multi-handed robberies, violent offences and sexual assault cases in the Magistrates and Youth Court. She also has experience in dealing with Drug, Deception and Fraud cases in the Crown Court.

Louise has prosecuted for the Crown Prosecution Service, the Department of Work and Pensions, The Child Support Agency, and the National Probation Trust in both the Magistrates’ and the Crown Court.

Louise has a reputation for being a highly skilled, measured, forceful and persuasive advocate. As such, Louise is regularly instructed to appear as an advocate both domestically and nationally.

Louise has a keen interest in dealing with fraud, domestic violence cases, sexual assault cases and has dealt with sensitive issues in relation to victims of these crimes. She has experience in dealing with vulnerable victims and vulnerable children.

Family law

Family children

Louise has represented clients for applications concerning, first hearing dispute resolution appointments, prohibited steps orders, specific Issue orders, dispute resolution appointments, direction hearings, fact finding hearings and final hearings.

Louise has represented clients who have been subject to domestic abuse and has dealt with applications for injunctions under the Protection from Harassment Act 1997 and the Family Law Act 1996, these include non-molestation orders and occupation orders. Louise has dealt with ex parte applications, emergency applications, return dates and contested Hearings.

Louise has dealt with cases concerning serious allegations of coercive controlling behaviour, physical abuse, rape, and sexual misconduct.

Public law/care proceedings

Louise has dealt with Public Law Children’s work, representing parents throughout the PLO process, she has dealt with applications for interim care orders/care orders, case management hearings, direction hearings, issue resolution hearings, final hearings, and deprivation of liberty hearings.

Louise has dealt with applications under sections, 31,38 & 44 of the Children’s Act 1989.
