Kings Bench Chambers are proud to announce the establishment of the new shipping and maritime law division. Whilst this is a new division we are sought after by local and UK based solicitors whose clients have specialist needs in the shipping industry. Our barristers have expertise and experience in all aspects of shipping law, both 'wet' and 'dry'.
Our barristers have extensive experience relating to shipping contractual documents including bills of lading, charterparties, contracts of afreightment, ship sale and purchase contracts. In addition we are also specialists in the maritime security industry and advise on issues which arise in practice relating to the supply of armed guards to combat piracy and regulatory matters related thereto.
Our barristers also have experience in matters relating to the marine environmental / pollution and port state control, collisions, salvage and wreck removal, employment and safety issues arising in shipping contexts.
Our barristers advise and represent parties in all types of cases relating to shipping and offshore activities in the civil and criminal courts, arbitrations, inquiries and other tribunals in the UK and other countries. Senior members are regularly briefed to draft legislation for maritime countries in emerging areas of law and sit as arbitrators in commercial maritime, collision and salvage disputes.
