Prior to being called to the Bar Terence worked for a firm of Solicitors in Dorset.
Employment
Terence deals primarily with most aspects of employment law. He is pleased to advise prior to the issuing of dismissal notices or proceedings. He is pragmatic and commercially aware. He has experience in the Employment Tribunals and the High and County Courts. He acts on behalf of both Respondents and Claimants. Areas of work include dealing with claims for: Unfair dismissal, Constructive dismissal, Wrongful dismissal, Sex discrimination, Race discrimination, Disability discrimination, Redundancy, Restrictive covenants.

Claims involving the enforceability and validity of restrictive covenants in employment contracts.
Defending status enquiries into the employment status of persons by the Inland Revenue.
Acting for claimants in claims for unfair dismissal following a TUPE transfer.
Negotiating a settlement on behalf of a director of a fitness company with settlement being reached at £165,000.
Negotiating a settlement on behalf of an Asian woman in her race discrimination claim against a local authority college.
Negotiating a settlement against a multi-national bank for work related stress and bullying.
Negotiating a settlement on behalf of a female employee concerning her sex discrimination claim against a government funded institution.
Negotiating a settlement on behalf of a Black woman against the MOD for constructive dismissal and race discrimination.
Negotiating settlement in a whistle blowing claim against a charitable trust.
Sports
He has been instructed in various sporting fields. The work consisted of employment and/or commercial litigation and advice. He has been instructed by, Portsmouth FC, Exeter City FC, Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic, Bristol Rugby, Ice Hockey UK and the British National Ice Hockey League.
Personal Injury
Terence deals with RTA Personal Injury claims in the Fast and Multi Track. He also undertakes matters concerning accidents at work. As well as trials he also provides advice on liability and quantum.
Civil
He has a broad practice examples include:
Sale of goods act matters.
A milk distribution company instructed him when a claim was made against them for £6 million.
He was instructed in a dispute with a kitchen fitting company, where the sum involved was approximately £30,000.
He has undertaken work concerning the dissolution of partnerships and the distribution of partnership assets.
Debt recovery work.
Family
He has been instructed in numerous disputes concerning the split of equity in property owned by unmarried couples under “TOLATA”.
He also deals with contact issues and non-molestation orders and their breaches.
Public Access
He is approved by the Bar Council to accept work direct from the public under certain circumstances. This area of his practice usually centres on receiving instructions from Respondents and FSA regulated intermediaries in Employment Tribunal matters. Please contact his clerks for further details.
